Shopping trip to Vons 1/31

So, based on my menu for this week, I needed to get some things to be able to make everything on my plan. And I needed some lunch items for the kids. As a side note, we ended up not doing the Dijon grilled pork chops and did steaks and baked potatoes instead, so I still have that as an option this week if I need. I also already had everything I needed for Spaghetti and Meatballs, so I didn't need to buy anything for that meal last night.

Here's how it went:
for Crockpot Mac and Cheese:
2 - 12 oz carnation evaporated milk cans, on sale for $1.49, q for $0.55 off two, doubled to $1 = $1.98 for 2
2 Barilla Elbow Macs, on sale for $1 each = $2
2 Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese packs, on sale for $2.99 with in store q, manu.q for $0.55 off two, doubled to $1 off = $4.98 for 2
1 Lucerne Shredded Parmesan = $3.49
Probably will be able to get two meals out of this = $12.45 total, or $6.22 per meal.

for Burritos/Nachos:
Newmans Salsa, on sale for $2.19, manu.q for $0.50 off 1, doubled to $1 = $1.19
1 Avocado = $1
2 cans refried beans (one for this week, one for later) = $2.50
Tortillas = $2.79
Mission tortilla chips (some will be used for this meal and some for the big game) = $2.50
Total for meal (including extras for other uses) = $9.98

For Lasagna night:
Stouffer's lasagna, on sale for $6.99, manu.q for $2 off 1, = $4.99 for meal

Also purchased:
Lemonade mix, safeway brand = $2
Applesauce cups, safeway brand = $1.79
2 cans Rotel Tomatoes (for this weekend) = $3.58
2 packages Barilla Thin Spaghetti = $2
1 package Barilla Medium Shells = $1
Starbucks Pike Place Roast, on sale for $7.99, q for $1 off = $6.99
Orange Juice = $3.99 with in store q
American Cheese Slices = $2.50
Store brand velveeta-style cheese (for this weekend) = $6.99
Store brand cream cheese = $1.79 with in store q
2 gogurt packages, $5.98, q for $0.75 off 2 doubled to $1 = $4.98
Half and Half = $2.99
2 quarts 1% milk, just4u price = $1.76
3 Fage greek yogurts = $3.75
Home Pride Bread = $3
2 Oscar Meyer deli meats, one sale B1G1, $1 off 2 e coupon = $3.99
3 avocados for this weekend = $3
2 everybody's nuts pistachios, on sale B1G1, $1 off 2 q = $4.99
Safeway broccoli florets = $1.50
Safeway butter blend salad = $2
Sliced apple packages for lunches = $3.00

So, I saved a total of $51.38 or 35%. Spent a total of $95. Not my *best* but still all useful stuff and we can't get 75%+ savings every time. I will be visiting CVS later today and that should be much better savings. ;-) Now you can see how I have a full meal plan, I shopped based on that meal plan, filling in the holes where I was missing items, and I still stayed under $100. I even bought some items that we will use over time (like the coffee, and the gogurt will last us through the next shopping trip...).

You can do it too. Good luck and Happy Shopping!
